As with no other cloth in history, the painted and printed cottons of India, known today as “Indian chintz,” changed the fashions and economies of people around the globe and helped shape our modern age. Join Global Threads guest curator Dr. Sarah Fee to delve deeper into objects and stories featured in the exhibition, from early natural dyes and the Industrial Revolution to contemporary artists and fashion designers who are revitalizing this ancient South Asian textile art.
